I’m trying to achieve my goal of 10 new words per day and am now on level four. I’ve been using listening/transcribe, playing the Italian sentence and the typing it in. A few months ago it started giving an error message when I played the audio. At first it was a few words, then more and more, until nearly every cloze gives an audio error. Then a few weeks ago it stopped allowing me to type a space between words. Hitting the space bar played the audio. Which means, of course, that I can’t type a whole sentence. Again, it started with only a few words, and now it happens with almost all of them. And now tonight hitting the space bar doesn’t even play the audio, it just gives an audio error message. Is anyone else experienceing this?
Hi @Macossay,
May I suggest that you repost this issue under the “Bug Reports” category?
The developers generally don’t read the language specific or sentence discussions, and also (as in this case you are asking if other people have seen it) many/most people only read topics related to the languages they are learning (so here only learners of Italian would read your post).
For tracking down a bug, it would probably also be very helpful to the developers if you could state whether this is in the Clozemaster mobile app or in a web browser, if it is in a browser then which one, and on what operating system you are running.
Best of luck in getting your issue resolved.
Hi Macossay, as zzcguns advises.“Mike&Team” are usually very helpful with bugs. Hope it soon gets sorted.
I’ve been reporting these for a month. In fact, the audio error message even says to please report this error if you get it. But the error messages keep increasing. I posted here because I’m curious if other people are seeing these errors. I’m not certain if there actually is a bug or if there is just some setting that I need to change.
I just tried with the example you posted a few days ago related to spaces between words, and I didn’t get any errors using Microsoft Edge on Windows 11.
N.B. I normally use the native speech on Windows 11, but for this test I did this twice, once with a Windows 11 native voice, and once with a Clozemaster voice.
I’ve had a bug where typing space repeated the audio (Bug listening with space key). Since I reported that it I’ve also seen it on mobile (iPad). But it’s happened sporadically, not gotten worse like for the OP.
Right, so you opened a bug report and didn’t get any response. Well, that’s rather disappointing to see.
@Macossay thanks for the reports and sorry for the trouble! What browser and OS are you using, and for what language(s) and collection(s) have you been seeing the errors?
@Daniel42 same question for you - what language(s) and collection(s)?
We’re yet to be able to reproduce, the above info will help, it may just be some sentences have broken audio that is then causing other issues and we can just regenerate the audio for the sentences.
I think it might have been one of the early ‘most common’ Greek collections, either the 100 or the 500 one. It’s been a while so I’m not really sure.
