There is a new feature that appears in the new V5 user interface called “Teach Me” when playing vocabulary text input.
This is a button that appears in the user interface when playing a sentence (i.e. before answering) -
If you click on the “Teach Me” button, the button disappears, and the cloze is displayed in light grey (at least this is the case in dark mode) -
At this point you don’t get any points for answering correctly, as the sentences has been flagged as “incorrect”.
If you now start typing into the box, the grey background letters disappear -
however, if you forget what was written then you can delete all of the letters that you had typed in, and then the cloze reappears in light grey again.
When you have answered the close and hit enter or pressed submit, the sentence is treated as an incorrectly answered cloze. This means that you should get to repeat the sentence again at the end of the round.
I think that this is a nice additional feature, particularly with the ability to delete the letters to reveal the answer in grey if you make a mistake or forget what you are supposed to be typing (e.g. “Aufenthaltsgenehmigung” or " Streichholzschächtelchen").
