This appears in the English from Italian. I know a football team that is thrashed can be termed as “asfaltato” or “stirato” but can’t quite get the poetry connection.
Edit: I thought this might have been a deep and meaningful idiom but it is in fact “Dovremmo STILARE una poesia?” Mamma mia, I was a bit slow no!?
