Hands-Free Mode keeps crashing

The Hands-Free Mode (previously called Clozemaster Radio) crashes consistently for me after playing some 15 rounds. Before it stops working, I notice that it introduces extra pauses between rounds, and then the app crashes; on reload it opens in the Dashboard. (I wonder, could this be due to a memory leak that eventually uses up all available memory?)

I’ve been seeing this behavior on and off for some releases now, and the latest version (2.11.8, Android 15) is no better. In fact, I have to go back quite long in time to recall a Hands-Free session that lasted more that 20 minutes before crashing. This is very annoying when you really have to have your hands free, like when driving. :frowning:

Just came back to say that I’m very tempted to write a less than positive review on Google Play because of this.

The only good thing is that I no longer have to set a sleep timer, because the app will crash long before the timer expires.

I just tried version 2.11.17, and the first session lasted some ten minutes before crashing. The good news is that it now produced a stack trace:

@mike I reported it directly using the button, but I got no feedback.

Thanks! This bug’s a bit finicky, sorry for the issue. Do you happen to recall what collection you were listening to, all vs just one’s you’ve played, or any other context?

Also! Tapping that button should open your email client - do you mean tapping “Report” did nothing, or that you haven’t received a reply to your email?

It happens to any collection I try, across different language pairings. My most frequent use case is Spanish from English reviews (spanning a large number of collections).

My theory is that the app runs out of memory, which happens quite quickly because I only have 4 GB of RAM; I even tested on another phone with the same amount of RAM, and I could reproduce the problem.

It doesn’t. Nothing happens at all.
