Daily goal streak missing

Since the recent update (December 2025), I have no way of seeing my daily goal streak, so I can’t see how many previous days I reached the goal. I have searched the statistics pages on Android and the web version, and not found this statistic anywhere. Why has this been removed, and can it be reinstated?

I don’t have the Android version, but in the web version, if the window is fully stretched out, either “Streak” or “Days Played” should be visible in the third column of the first row of the eight-box block at the top of the dashboard. If the window is not fully stretched out, it should be in the second column of the first row of the four-box block at the top of the dashboard.

In addition, if you open the drop-down list of languages, you’ll see either “Streak” or “Days Played” below each language.

You have the option of switching the display between “Streak” and “Days Played” by language. If you see “Days Played”, click on the gear icon in the upper-right-hand corner of the box to change it.

Hi. My streak is 1974 so what does eg 330 Days Played mean? When i switch to streak the far smaller number shows. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your responses, but the streak of days that I’ve played isn’t what I mean. I can still see that.
What I’m referring to is the number of consecutive days of reaching my goal number of points, which is a different number.

@Peter_Smyth, Clozemaster defines “streak” as you do: the number of consecutive days of reaching your goal in terms of number of points. “Days played” corresponds to the total number of days that you have played (without regard to whether you reached your goal on those days). The magnitude of a “streak” can be either equal to or less than “days played”.

@Floria7, your use of “streak” and “days played” is the opposite of Clozemaster’s, since the magnitude of a “streak” cannot be greater than “days played”.

This first screenshot reflects the fact that I’ve changed the display of “Days played” to “Streak” in the top box on the right-hand side, but the drop-down list is still remembering the “Days played” setting. (This will happen until Clozemaster is restarted, or perhaps until some specific amount of time elapses.) You can see that the streak, 2388 days, is less than the days played, 2393 (because at the beginning of the time I played Clozemaster, a few days went by before I started doing it every day). At this point, I’ve only gotten 180 points of my 200 daily goal, so in the drop-down, there is a green checkmark next to “Days played”, but the first number (180) next to “Daily goal” is not in green. (There is a checkmark in the “Streak” box in the box in the upper right-hand side, which I think might indicate a bug.)

I then played Russian a little more until I had reached 388 points. Then I took a second screenshot. You can see that (1) the drop-down display has caught up to the fact that I’ve changed the display from “Days played” to “Streak” and (2) the number 388 is displayed in green.

@Peter_Smyth, did you use the gear icon in the “Streak”/“Days played” box to toggle the display?

Hi Alan. Still a bit confused as I’ve completed 1974 days without a break but days played gives 331. But it’s no real biggie, as long as I keep learning and can see my 1974 I’m happy; -). (Am about to re-read your very helpful post).

That sounds like an impossible proportion. Congrats on your impressive streak, though.:clap::clap:

Thank you so much @morbrorper. I’m quite quick when it comes to the subjunctive but not so much when it comes to updates🤔

As @morbrorper said, the fact that your “days played” is less than your “streak” seems odd, but I’m glad that you can keep track of your impressive momentum!

Thanks @alanf_us Most kind. Momentum is what matters eh! Have a good weekend.

@alanf_us Thank you for your explanation, but that doesn’t fit with what I can see.
Since the recent update, my streak (consecutive number of days played) is still increasing from its previous position, but the number of consecutive days I had reached my goal was at ~500, a long way from 962. The days played number is the same as the streak (962), which makes sense.
Here are two screenshots from this morning, before and after reaching my daily goal. The streak value hasn’t changed, indicating that it is not the streak of reaching my point goal.
The new number (days played) introduced by the recent update is not the same as the number of consecutive days I have reached my goal, that has disappeared.

@mike Hi patient Mike&Team. It’s not the end of the world but just need your advice re Days Played and Streak, as I have played every day for 1976 days Ital/Eng and 1885 Eng/Ital:

Italian from Eng, DaysPd 1976 - Streak 333 (!)
English from Ital, DaysPd 1885 - Streak 734

Don’t like to nag but my 1976 Streak keeps me motivated. Regards to all meantime … Floria7

Are you playing on both Android and the webpage? Or only on Android?

I play exclusively on the webpage and:

  • I didn’t notice a December update or any change, everything looks as it always looked in the previous weeks/months.
  • I also cannot see how many consecutive days I met my target goal, but on the web, that has been the case for months, and not just since December 2025.

As I understand it, there are (or were) three ways of counting the days you played, ordered from least strict to most strict:

  • sum of days you played
    • If you played 500 days, then missed a day, then played another 300 days, this would show 800 days.
    • This metric is relatively new, to keep those students motivated who cannot keep up a streak.
    • This metric is disabled by default and needs to be enabled instead of the streak.
  • number of consecutive days you played (aka streak)
    • This would show 300 days for the previous example.
    • This is the metric shown by default, but can replaced by the less strict metric if you are unable to keep up a streak.
  • number of consecutive days you met your self-imposed target
    • This is a second metric to motivate people who want to opt into this metric and those who want to really learn every single day, to not just play a single sentence to maintain the streak on days when they don’t feel like learning.
    • If you played just one single sentence yesterday because you were sick/lazy yet didn’t want to lose your streak, then this metric that doesn’t seem to exist anymore would show “1 day” today whereas the other two metrics would show 800 and 300. You didn’t lose your 300 day streak, since you did play yesterday, but your streak of reaching your self-imposed goal (that seems to no longer exist) was reset to 0 due to not having played enough sentences yesterday.
    • There was a time (before the least strict metric was introduced) when both streaks were displayed at the same time, next to each other, and you didn’t have to decide between metrics.
    • This is the metric @Peter_Smyth is talking about.
    • I am missing this metric since a long time, not just since this month. Again, I’m playing on the webpage exclusively.

That third metric might have been removed when Clozemaster’s UI was revamped earlier this year. As of now, you can only see if you met your target today or not. The language in the dropdown menu will have a green background or not. But this is the case since a long time, at least on the webpage. I didn’t notice any changes this month (December 2025).

This doesn’t matter. You played on that day, that’s what get’s you the green checkmark. Regardless of whether you chose the metric “sum of played days” or “streak”. Your screenshot happens to show both metrics due to having just changed the setting. Even if it was just one single sentence. The green checkmark doesn’t seem to have anything to do with reaching your target (which in your case is 200 points). There doesn’t seem to be any metric in place anymore that counts the consecutive days you reached 200 points.

You get the checkmark if you played today, even if it was just one sentence and it gave you only 4 points. So I don’t consider that a bug. See also @Peter_Smyth’s comment. This is why @Peter_Smyth’s number 962 didn’t increase once he hit his goal of 500 points. The number already increased from 961 to 962 with the very first sentence he played that day.

I think that the number that would go up once you reached your personal goal (200 points) is no longer displayed by Clozemaster. But not just since this month but since a long while ago, at least if you play on the webpage.

Again, I can confirm (for the webpage) that his number has disappeared, but I cannot confirm that it disappeared this month. I cannot speak about how it is on the Android app.

@Peter_Smyth Your screenshot is from the Android version, which I installed today (so I’m using the latest version). Here’s my screenshot:

I don’t know why my version has the boxes in the reverse order from yours, but more importantly, I don’t know why mine contains the pair of arrows while yours doesn’t. If I press the arrows, my display toggles back and forth between “Streak” and “Days played”.

Does your display of the web version look like the web screenshot I posted earlier? Do you see a gear icon there?

@davidculley:

The part that I consider a possible bug is that the checkmark appears in the “Streak” box. I agree that if it appeared in the “Days played” box, it would not be a bug.

It still irritates the heck out of me that on the app Italian from English it shows Streak 334 instead of the 1997 days I’ve played without missing a beat! Same happens on E from I. Thinks: Must try harder to ignore it.

Just noticed the days posted etc on the web version are totally wrong for both - also the two courses are back to front as are the streak/days played! My main course should come first surely. 1978 is a bit different to 334! (App says 1977 days, web Profile 1978).Getting a bit fed up with this. Can @mike do anything about this please.

@Peter_Smyth what device and OS are you using? I’m also not sure why that screenshot you posted has Tagesziel first.

The daily goal streak - we weren’t sure where to put it where it wouldn’t create confusion like in this thread. It was previously only in the round results, and a bit buried at that, and we weren’t sure anyone even paid attention to it. Thanks for letting us know that you do. We’ll consider adding it back somewhere, potentially in the “All stats” from the dashboard.

@alanf_us @davidculley thanks for digging in here!

@Floria7 sorry for the frustration! Days played = total days played. Streak = days played in a row / consecutively. Days played only goes up every day you play. Streak can reset if you miss a day. If you play Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and today is Thursday, your Days played = 3 and your Streak = 2. Your stats look correct based what I’m seeing on our end at the moment, but please let us know of course you think something is still off.

Thanks @mike but it just doesn’t make sense, I began the E from Ital (736 streak) way after the Ital from E (334 streak!) and haven’t missed a day since on either. There was a bug way back in Ital from E which was fixed and my streak reinstated. Again as far as my own records show, Ital from E, I haven’t missed a day for 1977 days (E from Ital 1887). Looks like I’ll just have to accept it, re-motivate myself and get on with learning.

Day later **Also on web version, under Profile … 1979 days is recorded, app says 1978 days. The Italian from Eng course is now shown secondary - should be reversed as my bio and incorrect streaks give the impression I am learning English from Italian as my main course! No way. (Bio since amended).

Getting picky I know but …

@mike The screenshot is from Android, but I regularly use the web version too. Here is my dashboard on the web, with streak before daily goal:

Thanks for considering user feedback! I would greatly appreciate the return of the daily goal streak. Having it as an option to display on the dashboard and after every round would be great, but burying it in the extra stats is better than nothing.

@alanf_us For at least two years, probably since the start, “streak” has meant number of consecutive days played, regardless of the number of points (presumably anything >0). Days played is a new metric, which means total days played, regardless of gaps between them.

I think that even if you played just one sentence and got it wrong (resulting in 0 points), you would have maintained your streak. So, ≥ 0.

I experimented, and you’re right about the fact that getting any number of points, regardless of how it relates to your daily goal, now maintains your streak. However, I feel like at some point in the past, which could have easily been more than two years ago, the number had to be higher than or equal to the daily goal.

Update 1: I now see that @davidculley updated his post to address that.

Update 2: I agree with @davidculley that if the new definition of “streak” includes any day on which any number of points is played, then there is no bug in displaying a checkmark in that box even if the daily goal hasn’t been reached.
