Yes, I remember the same.
Today, if you play only one language, the streaks in the yellow box and green box will always be the same.
As I remember it, back then the streak in the yellow box would get the green checkmark and increase with your very first sentence played that day (that is, before you had hit your self-imposed daily target)
- but the streak in the green box would get the checkmark and increase only once you had hit your goal. Meaning, back then the two streaks could show different numbers (assuming you played just one language).
- or there even was another streak (in the red box). I don’t remember exactly.
- The red box would include a streak showing how often I had consecutively hit my daily goal for Swedish, the green box would show how often I had consecutively played Swedish regardless of hitting the goal, and the yellow box would show how often I had consecutively played any language (in my case, including Spanish in the count) regardless of any daily goals.
As mike said here, they removed that “daily goal streak” when they revamped the UI because
- they “weren’t sure anyone even paid attention to it”
- they “weren’t sure where to put it where it wouldn’t create confusion”
Yes, I updated my post a couple of times. Apologies for the confusion that might have caused.
I started my post while I was casually reading on my tablet, but I was too lazy to type some information without a proper keyboard. I later added more information once I was back at my proper keyboard.
