I don’t understand what’s wrong with the original sentence and translation and why it needed to be updated on Tatoeba.
The second definition of caer mal on its English Wikitionary page relates to food having a bad effect, and on the internet there are references to leche, cerveza and vino combined with caer mal, as in this example (mmm, probably best to install an ad-blocker before clicking

Why is this considered to be a bad translation?

What I can say is that the change from caer to hacer was originally suggested by a native speaker from Argentina. Personally I’ve only come across the usage of “Este hombre me cae muy mal, no me gusta nada.”
