‘Tuviste’ is the second person preterite form of tener (to have) and used for completed actions in the past, the present tense conjugation would be ‘tienes’.

I was basing my question on the English translation in the original post, which used “were”. So the only difference I saw was in the capitalization.

No. The translation given on Clozemaster for the sentence “Tuviste suerte porque él no te mordió.” is “You ARE lucky because he didn’t bite you.”
The correct translation should be “You WERE lucky because he didn’t bite you.”

The capitalization is mine for emphasis.
