In this sentence, there is no context that would tell you. However, you do have the options to:
(1) display a text box around the cloze that has the proper size (“Text Box Size: Changes” in the game settings), and/or
(2) display every letter you type into the cloze in green if it’s correct or red if it’s not (“Typing Color Hint: On” in the game settings)
Note that проснулась is longer than проснулся. If you type the first part of the word (проснул) into the field, you can figure out whether there’s room remaining for ась or ся.
The same issue comes up with synonyms. Sometimes it’s hard to know which one is expected, but a sized text box and/or typing hints will let you choose the right one.
The situation isn’t ideal, but in the absence of someone manually excluding every sentence that lacks enough context to tell you unambiguously which word is expected to fill the cloze, I find it good enough.
