Tienes lo que hace falta para hacer bien este trabajo.

English Translation

You’ve got what it takes to do well in this job.

What is falta doing here? Usually it’s a lack, except the translation it says that you DO have what it takes for this job?

Maybe it would help for you to think of the it which is lacking “what it takes”, and you are the one that has it. A quasi-translation along the lines of “You have what others are lacking to do this job well” is an awkward way to say it, but it reflects the lacking/missing nature of falta.

You can consider hacer falta as another way to say ser necesario: “Tienes lo que es necesario para hacer este trabajo”.
