According to Google Ngrams, this abbreviation is about as much used as “la tele”:

I’d read it ‘televisión’. Maybe ‘tele’, but then I’d write ‘tele’, not TV. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say ‘la te uve’ out loud.

A tool I go to for sentence-mining (when I haven’t found a term here) is Linguee, and their audio for the Spanish pronounce it as televisión. I also checked Forvo, where I tend to look for isolated words, and most said te ve or ti vi. There was one who said te uve.
This might be a regional thing…
