I was wondering if you have any plans to add new sentences in the smaller languages any time soon? I am getting a bit tired and frustrated about repeating the same sentences again and again. I’m thinking specifically about Icelandic and Romanian, but I guess this easily can apply to other small languages as I tried the few sentences existing in languages like Catalan and the problem is the same. One of the great things about Clozemaster is that you have smaller languages, but it looks like the new Fast Track by levels are only being developed for the large languages, and that would be a pity, really.
I suppose creating a new Fast Track for “smaller” languages is a rather large undertaking with a small market potential. However, I don’t see why Clozemaster couldn’t import a new batch of sentences from Tateoba in those languages. For instance, I frequently see new Romanian sentences being added there.
Yes. The new Fast Track for Romanian is at 80%, please see New Fast Track Tracker. Work in progress to improve our processes to provide better and more frequent updates.
Tagalog is also in progress.
I don’t have a timeline for Icelandic or Catalan at the moment. European Portuguese is currently queued up after Romanian and Tagalog. We’ll also be releasing the new Fast Track for Polish, Norwegian, Indonesian, and Arabic over the next couple months.
We want to get to as many languages as possible. We’re also considering other kinds of collections with fewer sentences to expedite new content for smaller languages. 3,000 new sentences for example could be plenty and would be 1/3 the time and cost of the new Fast Track.
Great to hear, thank you! Any timeline for Icelandic?
Sorry - I just realized my initial edit didn’t go through. Please see the rest of my reply above.
Is there any kind of content in particular you’d like to see, for Icelandic or otherwise? The new Fast Track, more based on frequency lists, smaller collections on specific topics (Animals, Music, Movies, etc.), idioms, grammar, travel focused, prep to read the news, etc.?
At present, I am specially focusing on learning Icelandic and Romanian, even though I use other languages as well (to keep them alive in my mind). I am happy to hear about the new Fast Track for Romanian coming up.
About Icelandic, I would prefer to have access to the new Fast Track with many sentences. It actually doesn’t matter to me if they are ordered by frequency or subject, I think I am beyond that point. What I need is lots of input and it gets quite boring repeating the same 2000+ sentences again and again. I use the English, French and German tracks for Icelandic, but most of the sentences are exactly the same, so it doesn’t really make a huge difference in the amount of input.
Alternatively a new import from Tatoeba would be useful for me as well.
