I came across this (see image) today when trying to create a new collection. I am now very concerned about the clozemaster software being able to handle uploaded spreadsheets. I do not want to waste my time and I am hoping I am doing something wrong. Anyone know why this error occured?
“我大前天看见了他。” three days ago {{ 大前天 }} dàqiántiān
It tested for 看见 instead of 大前天, but showed the pronunciation for 大前天.
Does it work correctly for the other sentences, or is it just this one example?
Does it work if you remove the enclosing braces around the cloze in column C of your spreadsheet?
It’s a long time since I uploaded a collection from a spreadsheet, but I’m pretty sure that I didn’t use braces around my clozes in the spreadsheet. The help documentation page doesn’t have them (although in the example it has “HELP” as the cloze rather than “AQUI” which is confusing).
With your current setup, the ingest engine might be trying to find your full cloze including the curly braces, and since it won’t find that cloze it could then default to using the automatic cloze selection algorithm (which would appear to be selecting a random cloze).
Indeed, the braces in the third column should be removed.
I’ll give it a try. The example sheet I had said it was required.
My understanding is that the format of the spreadsheet should be up to five columns, Sentence, Translation, Cloze, Pronunciation, Note.
I am learning Japanese and export from LibreOffice Calc to a CSV file using tab separated Unicode UTF-8. The third column of the spreadsheet (Cloze) does not have braces but braces are seen around the Cloze words in Manage Sentences within Clozemaster.
