rogar means beg, not pray. I think it should be either reza or the original sentence should be changed to Beg to God
This is what the RAE says:
rogar
1 tr. Pedir algo a alguien como gracia o favor. Rogamos atención.
2 intr. Rezar o pedir por alguien o algo. El reo rogaba por su vida.
