Quisiera la cuenta por favor.

English Translation

I’d like the bill, please.

Can anyone explain when to use ‘quisiera’ and ‘gustaria?’ What is the difference??

A major difference is that the implied subject of quisiera is yo, whereas it’s la cuenta for me gustaría.

Ohhhhh!!! Wow, I see. I think. In the sentence, above, the speaker is the subject, whereas, if I were to say, “Me gustaria la cuenta,” la cuenta is the subject. Am I right???

Right! The difference becomes clearer in the plural: “quisiera dos cervezas” vs. “me gustarían dos cervezas”.
