English Translation

Whatever will be, will be.

“Sea lo que sea” would be more appropriate, no?

It was originally a poor literal translation from English by someone who didn’t speak Spanish very well, so you are correct.

Que sera sera on Wikipedia

That phrase is sung in a song called what will be will be. I think it was sung by Doris Day in the film the man who knew too much. For me the phrase should be:

Lo que será, será.
O bien,
Lo que sea, será.
O
Sea lo que sea, será.
Hope it helps.
