Would be great to have an option to set daily goals for review and new separately, and also based on number of sentences and not based on points. It is easy to meet the point goal by reviewing (especially with 100% first option), and I could benefit from a reminder or motivation to do a certain number of new words everyday. If I were able to set a call of 20 new sentences and 50 review sentence, for example, I could more easily make sure I balance between the two and not favor review sentences to meet the point goal.
And not having streak reset whenever you change the setting for daily goal would be welcome and helpful so that the goals can be adjusted from time to time. (For example, if I am off from work and doing staycation, I would set a higher goal. If I have intense workweek, I would lower the goal to be more realistic and obtainable).
Currently I have the goal at very low number and do not change it. Instead I just set mental goals and follow that outside the system. I am not asking for a system that is too forgiving that streak becomes almost meaningless. I have a 4 year streak on duolingo, and I rarely use the streak freeze. If I were to lose the streak, I don’t know that I would be on it as diligently, even if it is just for 10-15 minutes for listening exercises. I suspect having 2-3 chances to freeze the streak in a year, for example, might be enough for most people that are asking for this feature on this forum.
Two different requests, I know, but they are related in that it could help users sustain their motivation which is one of the challenges with language learning.
