Nunca pensé que encontraría una mujer como tú.

Doesn’t “no pensar que” trigger the use of the subjunctive? If so, shouldn’t the correct answer be “encontrara”? Any help appreciated.

From Espanol Avanzado

In the present tense, no pensar que is nearly always followed by the subjunctive; however, when referring to the past, the negation (e.g. no/nunca/jamás pensé que) is frequently followed by the conditional or iba a when talking about prospective events.1
