por vs para depends on the context?
In a quick literature search I see that luchamos por outnumbers luchamos para about 25-to-1, and I don’t find any differences in context between the two. So I would confidently use por in any case.

If luchar precedes a noun, I’d use por. If it precedes a verb, I’d use para.
Luchamos por la paz.
Luchamos para mantener la paz.
