I believe “una sola maldita alma” would be the typical way to say “a single damn soul” in the English slang sense of the word? Isn’t “condenada” more literal?

I’ve got to say it does sound more literal. But a damned soul¿? it just sounds like an expression unless you believe in those things. So both maldita y condenada alma are right.
