I don’t carry much cash with me.

I instinctively chose “llevando” here. I think trayendo implies “bringing”, so it’s not as general.

Btw, this phrase: "No ando trayendo mucho dinero conmigo."means “I don’t carry much cash with me lately”

Better to say:
“No llevo mucho dinero conmigo” = I don’t carry much cash with me.
