Why does this say specifically beef?
I think the issue here is that there is no exact translation of beef into spanish. As far as I know beef refers to any meat that comes from cattle (or, apparently just cow, according to oxford ) whereas in spanish, you can have ternera (veal), vaca (cow), toro (bull) or buey (ox). However, what you use to make ground meat, is usually beef. So I guess that’s why carne turned into beef in the translation.
On another note, it’s carne picada, not molida (at least where I’m from)
I think it should say “ground meat” then… could be ground pork, chicken, veal, turkey or beef. Unless “carne picada/molida” always refers to ground beef?
I wouldn’t say it’s always that, but rather thta’s the default. To me, unless specified otherwise, carne picada is ground beef
