Multi choice for new words only

Was wondering if it would be possible to have another mode/setting alongside “multiple choice” and “text input”, that would make any new word come up as multi-choice, maybe the first 2 times you see it, then text input after that.

ie. get to click on it to learn whatever the word is at all in the first place, then work on spelling / recall / understanding after that?

Main question I guess is would this apply to anything on 0% / 25% mastered, or just the first time or two you see the sentence, or the first time or two you have the word as a cloze in any sentence. (I think I prefer the last one…)

More generally it would be really fantastic to be able to configure things for each level of mastery.

Eg. One could set it up as:

0% Mastery - Multiple choice, show translation
25% Mastery - Multiple choice, don’t show translation
50% Mastery - Text input with all hints enabled and variable textbox size
75% Mastery - Text input with no hints enabled and variable textbox size
100% Mastery - Text input with no hints enabled and fixed textbox size

One small extra request it’d be great if in hands free / radio mode, there was an “only new sentences” option.

I’m coming back round to considering this approach and my thinking here is I can:

  1. Use radio mode playing new sentences only while mowing the lawn and cutting the hedges etc (I have LOTS of time for this and is probably my biggest usage!)
  2. Sort by 0% mastered first and use listening mode / multi choice mode
  3. When it starts giving me 25% mastered sentences, switch to game mode / multi choice mode
  4. When it starts giving me 75% mastered sentences, switch to game mode / text input mode

I’ll need to switch off new sentences for 3+4, but as long as I do it in largish batches that’s fine. And realistically, I have very little time when I can sit down and actually type stuff in in a normal day, and I can see these last two steps being skipped.

  • bonus request, if there was a Castillian Spanish option on the Clozemaster Audio, or a free TTS that’s better than the awful iphone/android default options, that’d be fantastic! Or maybe just a collection where it’s all Spanish-Spanish voices and vostotros’s…
