‘Es gefällt mir sehr gut’ , shouldn’t it be: ‘Ich liebe ihn/sie sehr’?
It cuold be “ihn/sie”, but I think “es” shouldn’t be ruled out (if the object is “la chica” - “das Mädchen”, for instance). As for the verb, I’d tend to agree with you that, although technically “lieben” translates as “amar”, it is not used so much (at least in Spain), and “querer” would be a more idiomatic translation of “lieben”
