If you mean knowing when to use “tu” and when “usted”, what I´ve seen be suggested is to add a hint indicating “polite” or “casual”, or something like that, to know when you should be using which. You could also add the other form as a correct anser
I don’t think there’s a trick.
My first reading is that it’s a ‘generic you’, where the ‘you’ doesn’t really mean ‘you’ but rather ‘someone’. There are several ways to say that in Spanish.
But in some other context it could actually be ‘you’ and that could mean ‘tú’ or ‘Vd.’.
It could be any of those.
