Ag Éisteacht (Listening Practice in Irish). Patrick Hanley. Worldwide on Zoom. Fridays at Noon U.S. Central Time (1PM in New York, 10AM in Los Angeles, 7PM in Paris) starting July 5, 2024. https://groups.io/g/philo-listening . This class practices listening to modern spoken Irish using podcasts, radio programming, and other audio sources with a focus on integrating and practicing the sounds of spoken Irish. This course will not give preference to any particular dialect, so learners focusing on any of the main dialects should find value in hearing the great diversity that is alive in Irish today. Note: This course will have an (optional) asynchronous component, allowing students the opportunity to transcribe and translate what they are hearing in the clips into written text via the CCNG Discord Server.
