Esto no se me da bien.

This seems to translate to “this is not good for me.” Is this an idiom?

I have seen sentences like “Mira Sandy, no se me da bien hablar.” (Look Sandy, I’m not good at talking."), so I would think so, yeah.

“It is not given to me to” exists or existed in English, too.

Mira esto

Just get the idea behind all that stuff

Yes, it is not commonly used. However, if it helps to associate ‘da’ with ‘to give’ then it can help learn the expression. " It is not a given (fact) that I am good at this."
