There is no requirement that ‘se’ and ‘nuestras’ agree, they could refer to different people. But in this case, where they do refer to the same people, I agree that ‘hacernos’ would sound better (if that’s what you meant).

I wasn’t paying much attention to the English sentence, thinking about “taking responsibility for one’s actions”, so I was rather leaning towards keeping se and changing the possessive pronoun to sus.
