En verdad hablo en serio.

"English

I really mean it.

De verdad” [?]

In my mind, “en verdad” is rather “in reality”, “to tell the truth”.

So, according to RAE, both expressions can mean verdaramente? That just puzzles me even more.

I think I’ll have to learn to use the pattern “de verdad que”, which should be unambiguous: “De verdad que hablo en serio”.
