Why is “se” used here?

I believe that, contrary to “ir”, the verb “irse” requires a reflexive pronoun (such as “se”). Would someone please confirm or correct this thought? Thanks in advance. :slight_smile:

But why then does “Fuera.” (“Get out.”) not require a reflexive pronoun? (Assuming it comes from irse.)

“Fuera” is actually an adverb in this context, meaning “out”. It’s just a coincidence that it looks like the past subjunctive of ir (and ser).
