Él me dio el placer de escucharle.

question: why is it “escucharle” if it’s meant to say “he did me the favor of listening”
wouldn’t it be “escucharme”? any clarification would be appreciated

seems it should be escucharme

He gave me the pleasure of listening to him is a translation that makes sense to me. Perhaps this might refer to a very knowledgeable person who is extremely busy but makes an exception so that you can come visit him personally to hear his advice.

I can’t find this sentence in any collection, but I can find " Hizo el favor de escucharme" (He did me the favor of listening), so I think it has been changed in Clozemaster. The voice for the audio is not the usual one either, which is another clue.

English Translation

He did me the compliment of listening.

“Escucharle” and “escucharme” both make sense to me depending on the context. It just feels like the translation doesn’t correlate here.
