Cuando vio que venían a buscarlo, decidió diñársela por la puerta trasera.

English Translation

When he saw they were coming for him, he decided to make a run for it through the back door.

Is diñársela something you could hear in peninsular Spain?

Yes for diñar, although I only knew the ‘dying’ sense (diñarla). It’s very casual/slangy (like most caló borrowings).

Thanks, now I notice the etymology on the RAE page.
