The translation “make certain where the emergency exit is before you go to bed at a hotel” is simply not natural native English. I’d say:
In hotels, check where the emergency exit is before going to bed. Possibly “check where” would be “be sure of” but check where or check out seems more US friendly.
There’s numerous flaws “Make certain” but “at a hotel” when you sleep inside is odd too.
