I’m curious to know what pairo is, but it’s hard to find a good reference. It seems be a nautical term, related to the verb pairar (“to heave to”), if I’m not mistaken.

Not a word worth learning, just learn by heart the expression. It’s used ¿only? in Spain but not very common.
