Zwykłem czytać książki jak popadło.

popaść ‑padnę ‑niesz ‑padł pf, impf popadać w+A = to fall into, succumb to.

Question … can anyone help, please? What’s the best translation/interpretation of ‘‘jak popadło’’? I’ve seen a few examples online and it seems to mean different things in different contexts?? Thanks!

Oh, that’s tricky. If I had to be succint I would probably say “indiscriminately” or “randomly”. Otherwise you could translate it as “I’m used to reading any book that I get my hands on”.

You might also sometimes hear the phrase “co popadnie”, which means basically the same thing.

Thanks for that, thinking of the contexts I saw it in, that makes a lot of sense.
