Is this not present tense? So ‘had’ should be ‘have’?
The English translation of this sentence on CM is ‘‘Many people had no homes at all.’’ I would agree with you, that the English translation is in the wrong tense, compared to the original Polish sentence. Next time you see this sentence, I’d recommend reporting it, so that the Moderator can check this and change it as necessary.
