  • Can anyone help please?
  • I’ve several sentences of jak + verb e.g. (as above) jak grałeś, jak śpiewasz etc
  • The English translation given for this sentence is simply ‘‘I’ve seen you play tennis’’, not ‘‘I’ve seen how (the manner in which) you play tennis’’.
  • Therefore does jak + verb simply provide a description of the action? Does it ever imply the manner of the action? Thanks!

Here, “jak” is just used to link “widziałem” and “grałeś”, and it doesn’t really imply the manner of the action. So it’s quite different from English, where you can just say “I saw you play [/playing]” without any linking additional word.
