What does the 0% mastered day interval do?

As I understand it, the defaults for clozemaster review intervals are:

  • 0% Mastered: 0 days
  • 25% Mastered: 1 day
  • 50% Mastered: 10 days
  • 75% Mastered: 30 days
  • 100% Mastered: 180 days

I’ve tried various things like

  • 0% Mastered: 1 days
  • 25% Mastered: 3 day
  • 50% Mastered: 9 days
  • 75% Mastered: 27 days
  • 100% Mastered: 80 days

But I realized I don’t understand what the 0% mastered setting does. If I play a new sentence and I get it correct that day, it becomes 25%. So what is the point of the 0% mastered setting? It seems like after the first day, no word is going to be 0% ?

(small edit to clarify that I don’t always get the word correct initially, but even when I don’t get it correct, it seems like I still get to repeat it so then it also seems to become 25%)

The 0% interval is there for sentences you get wrong. Keeping it at 0 days means the sentence is instant up for review the same day, rather than being allowed until the next day. The utility of this becomes a little more apparent once you’ve progressed far enough in the collections that you get to sentences you don’t always answer correctly the first time, and may need to see two or three (or more!) times to actually learn/remember the correct answer.

Ah, thanks for clarifying! That makes sense.
