Can anyone please explain the difference between przydarzyć się and wydzarzyć się? Thanks!

The two mean pretty much the same, but the way they’re used in a sentence differs slightly.

“Przydarzyć się” is almost always used with a pronoun in the dative case. We use it when we say that something has happened to someone. So you say “przydarzyło mi się”, “przydarzyło jej się”, “przydarzyło nam się”, and so on.

Compared to the above, “wydarzyć się” is a much more common, all-purpose verb. It’s the generic “to happen” that is used when something isn’t happening to a particular person. For example, if you say “Wczoraj wydarzyło się coś bardzo dziwnego” (“Something very strange happened yesterday”), you might mean something that happened in your life, something you heard about from a colleague, or something you saw on the TV.
