@morbrorper Ciao! I wonder if it should be “Vorrei” which I would have expected and makes sense. Perhaps just a typo - but hey, noi siamo in gamba no?!

The Italian sentence with “vorrai” can be used, it feels very formal, insincere or antagonistic. Or at least, written by someone who feels justified in not writing earlier.
It sounds more like:
You will (or shall?) excuse me for not writing earlier.
With “vorrei” it matches the translation much better.
