Is this verb stöta? Based on Swedish verb 'stöta' conjugated - I would have expected this sentence to mean something like “we ran into them”.
With the stress on på,“we ran into them” is fine. What’s the given translation?
With the stress on stötte, it means “we made a move on them”

I think it was something like “we hit on them” (can’t remember now and it would be helpful if the English pulled through into these discussions). I’ll note the difference! Tack
