Sorry, I made a mistake.
How can I tell when I should use Verzeihung instead of Entschuldige. I just ran across two sentences with very similar structure where these were both used to indicate “I’m sorry”.
“Verzeihung” is just a bit more formal.
It can be used to adress anyone, whereas in the other case it can be
“Entschuldige”, “Entschuldigen Sie” or “Entschuldigt”.
What strikes me as unusual here, is “machte”.
“…, ich habe einen Fehler gemacht.” sounds much more natural.
