Who is that boy?
Is there any particular reason why “pojken” instead of “killen” would not be correct here?

“Kille” is colloquial for “pojke” (boy), but it can also be used for young men up to their early twenties. I rarely use “kille” myself, I tend to say “grabb”. So one is not more correct than the other.
Is it like “lad” and “chap” and “bloke” in British English?
For a young man, maybe, but kille can be used for young boys as well. One thing to remember is that we don’t mix kille with flicka; it’s either pojkar och flickor or killar och tjejer.
