Update app/ keyboard

On the updated app my keyboard now won’t connect to use for transcribe mode

I have an iPad and just a Bluetooth keyboard

Is there any fix for this

I sympathise @Closethebarn - another shock update. Landscape now impossible even for “Easy”, so in Portrait mode the small white titles of exercises are lost amongst the big bold green Submit etc. Titles need boxing to stand out; so far I find it very hairfairy and difficult to use. A floating keyboard helps a bit (I too use a Samsung tablet and phone) but this update while adding lots of data dotted about seems to have lost its clear, clean, simple approach to learning. That’s all I wanted, the old format gave me just that. Sorry ClozeM to be a tad uppity, will try to readjust yet again.

@Closethebarn what keyboard are you using?

@Floria7 sorry for the frustration! Landscape on smaller devices might still have UX issues like you described. We are admittedly focusing on portrait for now simply because that’s how the majority of users are using the app.

Fair point @mike. Thanks for listening, means a lot!

Two hours later, I’ve created a Portrait “rest”, explored the app more calmly and have to admit, good grief, I like it! (Now to test app on phone with various keyboards).

I have just an arteck that I use through bluetooth with my ipad that I got from amazon from amazon. It works with everything else. But not cloze app after update. Everything worked fine before.

Popup kb doesn’t work on phone unfortunately, only in Easy mode, otherwise it covers all text. We press on regardless.

Ehilà. Sì sì, ClozeM is my favourite place to learn Italian regardless of a few blips along the way. The forum is a good place to ask questions or give advice, and to contact Mike&Team who actually communicate with us, unlike many other sites. Very happy to be here. A dopo …

I know this is a workaround, and not a direct solution to the problem you mentioned, but I do Clozemaster on an iPad with an apple Magic Keyboard, but use the browser-based version of Clozemaster. That setup works great for me, and I can use the return key to advance to the next sentence without having to touch the screen.

Stupid question when you use the chrome safari version do you always have to press space bar twice after first word?
That is my workaround as well

What’s frustrating about that, though whenever I try to do it with listening and transcribing especially with custom-made collections I always run into “there was a problem with audio “ then I have to close and reopen
Its frustrating sometimes

Hey Closethebarn, I’m not sure I entirely understand your question - I use Safari (not Chrome), and have never had the behavior that requires me to hit the space bar twice to produce a single space (for example, after the first word). I have no comment on transcribing as I always type (probably not very smart). If I missed the point of your question, please feel free to ask again.

It sounds like you’re talking about this problem:
