English Translation
Does your dress become me?
The translation is horribly incorrect.
Does your dress become me?
The translation is horribly incorrect.
I don’t know any russian, but both Google Translate and DeepL translate this sentence to “Does your dress suit me?”
I think your confusion comes from the meaning of “to become”. Look here: become - Wiktionary, the free dictionary at meaning #4:
Of an adornment, piece of clothing etc.: to look attractive on (someone).
So I would say the translation is ok.
believe what you want
Mature answer. But you do you.
You don’t know Russian, which you admitted, so maybe stick to languages which you know something about.
So? Does that disqualify me from giving an informed answer? I do know english, and I can use dictionaries and know when to have confidence when multiple sources agree.
If your understanding of “to become” is not the problem, then what is?
Wiktionary says about идти: идти - Wiktionary, the free dictionary
- to suit, to become (of wearing clothes)
Э́тот костю́м ему́ идёт. ― Étot kostjúm jemú idjót. ― This suit suits him.
