The pair was imported from Tanaka Corpus to Tatoeba, which means a student of Prof. Tanaka translated the English sentence into Japanese. But I found the Japanese sentence unnatural… I would propose:

児童が実社会に適応できるよう、学校制度が設けられた。(pron. じどうが / じっしゃかいに / てきおうできるよう、がっこうせいどが / もうけられた）

  • 幼いもの doesn’t fit the overall tone of the sentence. 児童 is the frequent term.
  • 社会生活 + 備える is a wrong collocation. 備える is mostly used in the context of “risks of disaster” or “the worst case scenario”.
  • 手助けをするために is super wordy.
  • 学校 + 始められた is also a wrong collocation. Without 制度, it means that “a new semester of school has started”.
