I miss my friends.

Wiktionary says “[恋しい] can only be used when missing an experience, e.g. culture, environment, taste of a food, et cetera. If a person is missed, the desiderative form of 会う (au, “to meet”) is used instead.” Does that mean this is an incorrect usage of 恋しい?

恋しい is also used in the context of romantic relationship, homesickness and friendship. You can find many example sentences on 英辞郎.
