How does the “きて” modify the sentence meaning compared to without it?
Go and see who it is.
How does the “きて” modify the sentence meaning compared to without it?

行って来る [いってくる] (vk) (1) I’m off, see you later, (2) to go (and then come back)
I guess this is a case of meaning #2.
