I appear to be more than 20 years old.
Is it normal this מ- way of writing?
It’s common (with or without a space after the hyphen) when the numbers are in numeric form:
אני מופיע למעלה מ- 20 שנה.
But I don’t see examples of the expression “למעלה מ” followed by a space and a written-out number when I search for “למעלה מ” on Reverso Context.
By contrast, I do see many examples of “מעלה מעשרים” when I search for “מעלה מעשרים” on Reverso Context.
So I assume this sentence would be better written as simply:
אני מופיע למעלה מעשרים שנה.
