Understandable but not so good collocation. この方 is a polite expression of “this person”. 知りません (don’t know) is neither polite nor rude. My alternative translation is:
(polite) 私もこの方を存じ上げませんでした。(pron. ぞんじあげる)
(casual) 私もこの人を知りませんでした。
(more casual) 私もこの人、知らなかった。
存じ上げる is used when you refer to a respectful “person”. If you humbly say “I know the fact/incident etc.)”, use 存じる instead.
